Me and my other reason to smile!
"You have a choice, what do you choose? I choose to be happy."
By Cassandra Benson
I used to live in a group home when I was 15 years old. I am now 25 years old and look back on how much this one saying got me through all the tough times.
I wanted so very much to go home, and then one day it hit me. I have a choice. While I was moping around, crying about wanting to leave, I wasn't changing anything.
I made a giant sign in my room to remind me everyday that we have choices. Why was I going to mope around when I had the choice to smile?
"You have a choice, what do you choose? I choose to be happy." That sign got me through 9 months, and 10 years later, I am still smiling.
