"Champions keep playing until they get it right."
-Billie Jean King
In my life I have remembered these words anytime I felt like quitting. Where do you go after you quit? Back to the beginning? You sure don’t get to go to the front of the "I’ll try again line."
If there were such a line, those who wanted to try again would be in the front if they gave it their all the first time.
As my two daughters have grown over the years I have encouraged them to participate in extra curricular activities. Teamwork creates so many values but one of which I find extremely important and that is competition.
To grow and learn to be a competitive person is to grow and learn how to keep striving no matter what the goal.
With a large obstacle in the way, whether some form of disability or the odds seem stacked against you, with the fiber of competition in your soul you know to get up on that mountain and keep kicking and screaming.
You don’t have to win every time to be a champion. You do not have to be the best to be a champion. You have to be the type of person that has shown time and time again that they will not give up, they will give their all into their endeavors and they believe in their heart that they can always learn more, to do it better.
